In November, the Fit to Fight® Gastonia Family partners up with our local Boys and Girls Club to help bring Christmas to local area kids in need.
Youth in the program complete a form detailing some needs and wants they have for the holiday season. This information is put on the back of a piece of paper shaped like a boxing glove. These paper gloves are hung on a tree, similar to the “Paper Angels” you may see this time of year in large chain stores.
Fit to Fight® Gastonia members select a paper glove from the tree to purchase as many items as possible from their list. The presents are wrapped and delivered to the Boys and Girls Club.
From there, the Club works with parents to make sure the gifts are given to the child in a way that works for their family.
Last year we were able to support about 20 children. This year, we hope to reach 25 with the support of our friends and family!
