College Bound: 8-Week Self-Defense Training Program
Prepare yourself for the challenges and opportunities of college life with our comprehensive self-defense training program, College Bound. Over eight weeks, you will learn essential skills and techniques to enhance your personal safety and confidence in any situation.
This course will focus on the particular challenges presented to someone who is living on their own for the first time. While the course identifies strongly with young adults moving to college, it is a great beginner self-defense course that is open to teens and adults of any age.
Below is what to expect in the 8-week training course:
- Understanding the difference between Self-Protection and Self-Defense
- Deescalating a potentially dangerous situation
- Pre-emption, Using Verbal and Physical Barriers
- Stance, Striking and Movement
- Defending Against Common Attacks
- Basic Ground Fighting for Self-Defense
- Scenario Training and Drills

Class will meet on Saturdays from 11:30am – 12:30pm starting on Saturday 6/22 and ending on Saturday 8/10.
Classes will be recorded via Zoom so if you miss any, you’ll have the ability to review it and catch up.
